Brand Copy

And sometimes, I even write!

Yep, it’s true. I’ve put my liberal arts training to good use for many of my clients whose needs extended beyond design and art direction.

The “Serious” Stuff

Working with startups (and just being a human right now) it’s inevitable to hit some road bumps. Finding the right words can be tough, but a challenge I love.

Client: Rosebud CBD

Problem: The early days of COVID, the unknowns of shipping logistics, but the need to keep sales going for a small business client.

The solution: An empathetic yet practical message that made customers feel seen and taken care of. And it worked - leading to $12k+ in sales from the email directly.

Client: Package Free Shop

Problem: Participating in the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale cycle as a sustainable brand that doesn’t support senseless overconsumption.

The solution: Risky (but it paid off!) messaging that encourages followers to consider not buying something, while also highlighting the opportunity to lower the financial barrier to entry that can come with sustainable products.

Client: Rosebud CBD

Problem: A popular product being discontinued due to a cease and desist from a much larger company.

The solution: An open and honest letter from the founder about the ups and downs of business, without spreading any “bad blood” to the larger company. It’s just business, right?!

The Other Stuff

Whether fun, informative, or a mix of the two, I’ve crafted brand copy for selling products, sharing brand values, or simply to entertain.

Client: Poplar

The goal: Leverage consumers’ tendency to make purchases in the spirit of “New Year’s Resolutions” without sounding trite, or jumping on the bandwagon of false promises so many brands spout this time of year.

Client: Rosebud CBD

The goal: Share the versatility of Rosebud’s CBD Salve through the lens of traveling and packing efficiently.

Client: Poplar

The goal: Focus on how to customize a bath to soak up (pun intended) all the benefits no matter the type of bather.

Client: Poplar

The goal: Highlight coffee and alcohol alternatives in a way that’s approachable and not preaching to completely revamp your habits, but make small changes.
